This image has many layers of meaning. It is a humorous, literal depiction of the vernacular "you're killing it." It is also a metaphor of the power of writing, as the "weapon" is a quill (feather), the blood spilled from the cockroach is black ink, and the woman's hand behind her back is a fencing pose, underscoring the quill as a sword (the pen is mightier than the sword). It is therefore an empowering depiction of a woman using language/ art as a weapon (and a Kafka reference).
